Purpose of the role: The Safety/EHS Specialist is a permanent fulltime role that reports to the Safety/SHE manager and assists with planning, developing, administering and implementation of safety programs across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and/or direct operational audits and assessments as required.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are established, prepared, implemented, revised, and maintained to meet current and known future requirements.
  • Provide leadership for developing and directing safety initiatives.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to other company locations within Eastern Canada as required.
  • Support the sites to ensure compliance with customer, corporate, governmental, and third-party safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
  • A diploma in Health and Safety from an accredited college or university is a must.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is considered an asset.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001 would be considered an asset.
  • Safety certification is considered an asset (e.g., CRSP, CRST, CMIOSH, CHSC, etc.).
  • Awareness in client databases is considered an asset (Avetta, ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, etc.).
  • Incident investigation training certification.
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE) training certification is considered an asset.
  • Standard First Aid or higher certification.
  • 3+ years experience as a safety professional.
