Job summary

Charger Logistics Inc. in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Safety Coordinator- Driver Hiring to lead full-cycle recruitment for Class 1/CDL drivers, onboarding, and safety training.

You will partner with Operations, Safety, and Compliance to attract top driving talent and ensure policy adherence in a fast-paced transportation environment. The role emphasizes DOT/FMCSA compliance, Hours of Service, accident prevention, safety meetings, and supporting driver retention.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in transportation safety, driver training, recruitment, or compliance.
• Experience recruiting drivers across Canada and the United States.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, Hours of Service (HOS).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for Class 1/CDL drivers, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
• Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified drivers through job boards, referrals, networking, and other recruiting channels.
• Verify driver qualifications, licenses, background information, and required hiring documentation.
• Conduct driver orientations, road evaluations, safety training, and ongoing coaching programs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT/FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and transportation safety standards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and injuries, completing required reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Perform safety inspections and support accident prevention, driver engagement, and safety awareness initiatives.
• Facilitate regular safety meetings and promote a culture of safety, compliance, and driver welfare.
• Work closely with Operations, Safety, and Compliance teams to support terminal performance and driver retention.

We are currently seeking a Safety Coordinator- Driver Hiring to join our Montreal, QC Terminal team. This role is responsible for full-cycle driver recruitment, onboarding, driver training, safety compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Safety, and Compliance teams to attract top driving talent while ensuring adherence to transportation regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Experience recruiting drivers across Canada and the United States is required.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, Hours of Service (HOS), driver qualification files, and transportation compliance standards.
• Solid understanding of the trucking and logistics industry.
• Experience conducting driver orientations, road evaluations, and safety training programs.
• Truck driving experience is considered a strong asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
