A prominent educational institution in Brandon, Manitoba seeks a Workplace Safety & Health Officer to oversee safety programs and collaborate with staff to maintain a healthy workplace. This role requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, five years of experience, and strong interpersonal skills. Under the supervision and direction of the Supervisor of Human Resources, the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of the school division's safety and health program to promote a safe and healthy workplace. This includes accident investigation and analysis; safety and health education and training, and policy and program development and review; assisting with worker compensation claims and the disability management program; and providing resource assistance to the WSH committees and divisional staff. The WSH Officer will work collaboratively with administration/management, employees, and Union representatives to build a strong internal responsibility system, where everyone has direct responsibility for safety and health as an essential part of their job.

Knowledge of division policies, procedures, and collective agreements would be an asset.
