Job summary

CanaDream Corporation in Delta, BC, is seeking an experienced RV Technician to join our service team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of recreational vehicles using diagnostic tools and working under the Service Manager to ensure safety and quality.

You will lead by example in the shop, mentor assistants, perform pre-delivery inspections, coordinate warranty work, and deliver exceptional guest and customer service throughout the repair process.

Qualifications

  • Qualified RV Technician or Journeyman with experience.
  • Propane certification LP Gas required (Vancouver).
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Hands-on RV preventative maintenance experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and safety focus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults in RVs using diagnostic tools.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble components to spec.
  • Lead shop workflow and mentor helpers/assistants.
  • Perform road tests and pre-delivery inspections.
  • Coordinate warranty work and guest assistance.
  • Maintain safe, organized work area and accurate paperwork.

Position Summary

The RV Technician is a key member of CanaDream’s service team, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our Guest and Customer sales fleet. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the RV Technician is tasked with a wide range of maintenance and repair duties that are essential for providing high-quality experience to our customers.

In this role, the RV Technician will conduct comprehensive examinations of recreational vehicles (RVs) to identify any issues that may affect their functionality or safety. Using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques, the technician will troubleshoot and accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural problems. This process involves keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Essential Duties and responsibilities
  • Utilize testing equipment, troubleshooting techniques, manufacturers’ specifications, and internet resources to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and identify necessary parts, then reassemble components to meet factory specifications.
  • Provides leadership within the shop by overseeing daily workflow and supporting team coordination, effectively acting as the senior lead within the team.
  • Teaches, coaches, and mentors Shop Helpers and RV Technician Assistants, developing their skills and ensuring consistent quality and adherence to best practices across the team.
  • Conduct operational tests on engines, including road testing vehicles to ensure proper functionality.
  • Identify and process warranty claims, coordinating necessary repairs to meet warranty standards.
  • Assist guests with on-road issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure their safety and satisfaction.
  • Install various RV accessories, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
  • Deliver comprehensive and continuous guest and customer service, addressing their needs from the initial contact through to completion, with ongoing support for the entire duration of their RV ownership.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area for guests, customers, and fellow team members, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections on guest RVs, ensuring all systems are operational and meet quality standards.
  • Execute duties with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.
  • Uphold a safe working environment by adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment, contributing to a cohesive and productive workplace.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, manufacturers, guests, and customers to ensure repairs are completed in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Accurately complete work orders and timecards, ensuring all documentation is precise and up to date.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever needed.
Skill Set, Education and Experience
  • Professional Certification: Must be a qualified RV Technician, Journeyman, or possess equivalent experience.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Propane Certification: Must be certified to operate a propane pump (LP Gas ticket is required in Vancouver).
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in RV preventative maintenance, including propane systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, air conditioning, refrigerators, heating systems, water systems, and slide mechanisms.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Must possess strong mechanical, electrical, and electronics aptitude, with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Maintaining a Safety-Conscious Attitude : Prioritizing safety in all tasks and responsibilities. This includes following all safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and being vigilant about potential hazards. The RV Technician must ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner to protect themselves, other crew members, and the guests.

Working Conditions
  • Employment Type: Seasonal Full time or Part time.
  • Physical Requirements: Must have the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
