Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a senior Quality Assurance Specialist to lead testing efforts for large-scale systems. You will plan testing strategies, create test plans and scripts, and drive quality across GUI and non-GUI environments.

You will collaborate with developers, analysts and project teams, execute diverse tests, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Strong experience in ALM/JIRA and performance testing is required.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, theselection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required fortesting.
  
• Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems inGraphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI)environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specializedtests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests).
  
• The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for thedevelopment of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing theseagainst the various components. The tester will work with the testing lead andIT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis,design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the requiredsystems.
  
• Executes functional, integration, system, and regressiontests.
  
• Validates that the system behaves as expected under variousconditions.
  
• Identifies, document, and track software defects using toolslike ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps.
  
• Works closely with developers to reproduce and resolveissues.
  
• Develops and maintains automated test scripts using toolslike Micro Focus, OpenText™ UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, or Postman.
  
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Conduct performance, stress, and load testing to ensure thesystem can handle expected user traffic and data volumes.
  
• Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarianswith Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.
  
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and projectmanagers to clarify requirements and ensure quality.
  
• Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, dailystand-ups, and retrospectives.
  
• Maintain detailed documentation of test results, testcoverage, and quality metrics.
  
• Provide input for user manuals and release notes.
  
• Ensure testing processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
