Responsibilities:

· Lead QA in development projects and release cycles as an application subject matter expert.

  • Ensure digital applications are fully tested and conform to WCAG standards with the common goal of ensuring frictionless implementation of technology across the organization.
  • Contribute as an active team member to Agile projects. Be accountable for understanding user story content, determining test approaches, creating tasks, and providing daily progress updates to team members.
  • As an accessibility tester, work closely with developers and designers to suggest modifications or improvements to enhance the products accessibility. Ensure accessibility considerations are integrated into the development process.
  • Evaluate testing strategy, overall user experience of the product. This includes assessing usability aspects such as navigation, interaction design, and overall user satisfaction.
  • Design, write, execute, and validate test cases, document results, create any required defects, and assign them to the development team for review. Test cases may be executed on a variety of technologies including desktop, mobile etc.
  • Research new tools, techniques, and guidelines to enhance testing skills and keep pace with evolving accessibility standards.
  • Responsible for conducting training sessions or workshops to educate developers, designers, and other stakeholders about best practices for creating accessible digital products.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure product backlog prioritization and business analysis materials (e.g., agile user stories/requirements, specifications, etc.) have appropriate detail to achieve project objectives.
  • Interact with key business & technology stakeholders for providing demos and workshops that reflect the needs of both the business and end-customers.
  • Participate in Agile-Scrum practices such as daily stand‑ups, grooming, planning, and sprint retrospectives.

· Support teams with Accessibility standards remediates for the I&IT solution.

  • Collaborate with Cyber Security and OPS Information Technology Partners to remediate application safeguards such as Threat Risk Assessment and Penetration testing recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain mobile applications that adhere to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) from inception through the entire product lifecycle.
  • Ensure project not only meets compliance standards but also reflects a dedication to inclusive design principles, making digital products usable by the widest possible audience throughout their entire lifespan.

· Lead in interpreting and advising on accessibility standards, principles, techniques, and best practices, including WCAG.

· Knowledge transfer and documentation as requested by the Project Manager and Manager

  • Support new team members and management with necessary documentation and demos needed to learn and onboard the product with stakeholders.
  • Lead consultations with XD Lab team, usability testing activities from a Cognitive and Visual perspectives as well.
  • Coordinate the development of business systems/applications including assisting team members through the systems development life cycle.
  • Ensure Azure Devops tools and test suite are updated.

· Provide guidance in automating test cases where possible.

Public Sector Experience

· 5+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry, specifically in maintaining and supporting systems such as Long‑Term Care, Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), Hospital Information Systems (HISs), Clinical Assessment tools, and Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) compliant.

· Knowledge of personal health information protection, Accessibility legislative requirements and how they apply to developing and maintaining healthcare systems containing personal health information, preferred

Web Accessibility Expertise

· 10+ years experience with I&IT Solutions development, digital accessibility subject matter expert.

  • IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
  • Knowledge of accessibility‑related legislation such as the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Working experience with disability‑related issues with respect to digital accessibility, assistive technologies, and universal design.
