Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

Pay Rate: $ 31.50 / hr

Shift: Casual/ On- call Days , Afternoon, Occasional nights

Location: Glenburnie , Ontario

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Registered Practical Nurse provides quality nursing care . The Registered Practical Nurse will carry out the duties in alignment to the organizations mission, vision and values, and work to further its priorities.

Job Description
  • Provides nursing care according to the Gentlecare ™ philosophy
  • Resident Care
  • Documents and communicates resident progress, plans of care, assessments, interventions, and health history
  • Provides nursing care to residents, assisting with general health care including cleanliness, grooming, rest, nourishment, elimination and diversional therapy
  • Administers medications, treatments and nursing care within scope
  • Assists with the assessment of the residents' needs and the creation, execution and evaluation of their plan of care
  • Assists with rehabilitation and preventative care to residents in accordance with the plan of care (e.g. encourages independence, assisting with walking, active and passive exercises, etc.)
  • Provides health education to residents within scope of practice
  • Assists with provisions of social and recreational activities for residents
  • Provides for the residents' emotional and physical comfort and safety
  • Fosters teamwork and communication among the health care aides/personal support workers
Requirements
  • Current unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Successful completion of the Medication Administration for RPNs course at a recognized community college after January 1985 (if graduated before 1985).
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen
