Job summary

A mental health care facility in Ottawa is seeking a nurse to provide care for residents in a long-term care environment. The ideal candidate should be a graduate from a recognized Practical Nursing program and registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, with a commitment to professional development and strong interpersonal skills. Experience in psychiatric nursing is preferred, and bilingual candidates are valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CNO Standards regarding RPN scope of practice.
• Understanding of MHA and relevant legislation.
• Technical skills in various nursing procedures.

Skills

Ability to develop therapeutic relations with patients

Function as a member of the inter-disciplinary team

Basic computer skills

English level A- in oral comprehension

Bilingual (English/French)

Education

Graduate of recognised Diploma Program in Practical Nursing

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

CPR/AED Certification within the last 2 years

Completion of Prevention of Violence in the Workplace training (C.P.I.)
