Position Summary

Coordinates care of acute stroke, telemetry, and medical patients.

Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and Visitors.

Position Requirements
  • Current Registration with College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Medical Nursing experience
  • BCLS
  • Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Course (completed or in progress to be completed within 4 months)
  • Hemisphere course (completed or to be completed within 1 year)
  • STAND training (completed or to be completed within 6 months)
  • Demonstrated ability to care for complex acutely ill adults
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate total patient care for acutely ill patients
  • Expertise in acute medical assessment skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in caring for stroke patients
  • Knowledgeable regarding the scope of practice for various job categories
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team, patients, families, and general public
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good attendance record
