Job summary

Boart Longyear Ltd. in Calgary, AB seeks a Rotary Driller Assistant to support drilling operations. The role is full-time, on-site, based primarily in Fort McMurray, AB with a fly-in/fly-out rotation. Hourly wage: $32.00 - $43.50/hr.

You will assist drillers, handle rods and tools, and participate in safety procedures while maintaining equipment and supplies for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills to perform all job-related tasks.
• Ability to work under safety protocols in drilling environments.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Golden Rules and Rules of the Road.
• Complete training such as BITS, First Aid and other required training.
• Demonstrate competence in relevant core modules.
• Report to work fit for duty.
• Work under the instruction of a Driller or Supervisor with variable direction.
• Perform tasks unsupervised within competency and under supervision as required.
• Carry out all tasks safely and support drilling operations (handle rods/tools, collect samples, mix fluids, basic maintenance, refuel vehicles).
• Prepare for daily drilling operations including startup meetings and shift requirements.
