Job summary

Always Roofing Ltd. in the Greater Toronto Area is hiring a roofer to repair or replace roofing systems across multiple sites. You will detect leaks, maintain equipment and work on built-up, single-ply and metal roof installations using BUR, TPO, EPDM, and torch-on methods.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience with various roofing systems, the ability to work at heights and follow safety protocols. This full-time position offers benefits according to the Union Local 30 Provincial Collective

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a roofer with conventional and inverted built-up systems.
• Ability to install, repair and replace roofing membranes and shingles.
• Knowledge of safety practices and use of hand/power tools.

Wage:

$53.11.per hour + benefits according to Union Local 30 Provincial Collective Agreement (full-time position)

Location of Work:

Various locations across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Province of Ontario

Job Description:

• Repair or replace roofing systems


• Detect leaks


• Clean and maintain equipment


• Repair, replace or install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions;


• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level;


• Apply waterproofing membranes using techniques like hot asphalt [BUR] single-ply [TPO, EPDM] or 2-ply torch-on


• Lay down vapor barriers, rigid insulation and cover boards


• Install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel


• Pour hot asphalt and tar


• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools


• Cut & install sheet metal flashings, seal seams & waterproof roof penetrations [like vents and skylights] to prevent leaks


• Install, repair or replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings


• Set-up scaffolding

Job Requirements:

3-5 years of experience as a roofer specializing in conventional and inverted built-up system, modified roofing system, rigid pre-formed roofing system, single ply sheet membrane roofing system, tiled roofs, skylights

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Hand-eye co-ordination, physically demanding; Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads; Large workload, Repetitive tasks, overtime required, work under pressure, fast-paced environment.
