Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Vaughan, Canada, seeks a Robotics/Automation specialist for an immediate open position. You will work with MIG, TIG, and stick welding, program PLCs (Allen Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000), and support vision systems (Keyence, Cognex) on automated weld cells.

Strong English, good communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required. A post-secondary qualification in robotics/automation is preferred, with certification in robot programming. Overtime may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Robotics/Automation.
  • Experience in MIG, Stick and TIG welding.
  • Clear English communication and ability to follow instructions.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting with Allen Bradley RSLogix and Studio 5000.
  • Experience with vision systems (Keyence 2D/3D, barcode scanners, Cognex).
  • Understanding of projection welding and MIG welding fundamentals.
  • Certification in robot programming (ABB, Fanuc, Panasonic).

Responsibilities

  • Wages: $34–$38 per hour for spot welders and associated equipment.
  • Optimize welding parameters to improve weld quality.
  • Carry out PMs for welders and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers and Program managers to solve quality issues.
  • Respond to breakdowns quickly and complete related paperwork.
