Job summary

Gerdau in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Robot Welder to perform MIG production welding and fabrication while meeting safety, quality and efficiency goals. This role requires reading blueprints, setting up welding parameters, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with PPE.

Two shift options with starting rate of $24.93 per hour; 10-hour Mon-Thu or 12-hour Fri-Sun; weekend training first 1–2 months.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years welding Experience (hand and Robot)
• Skilled training courses on welding can be considered as an alternative for experience
• Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings (blueprints) and manufacturing processes
• Ability to set up welding equipment on your own for both hand welding and Robot
• Capable of using measuring instruments, gauges, etc to check weld quality and parts
• Able to work under minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
• Operate MIG welding equipment to fuse metal segments using MIG processes
• Set up parts, weld machine parameters according to blueprint and work specifications
• Work with other equipment and power tools as needed
• Follow setup and inspection procedures
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures and maintain clean and safe work area
• May perform other duties as supervisor deems necessary
