Roadway CAD Technologist – Design & Planning

Job summary

Stantec's Transportation group in Canada is seeking a Roads CAD technician/technologist to join our team on projects ranging from local to international scale. You will work with engineers and designers to develop plans for bridges, roads, airports, and transit facilities.

You should have a technical degree and at least three years of experience, plus strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and Bentley tools.

Qualifications

• Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Ability to work with others on complex projects.
• Working knowledge of software programs including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Bentley products (MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads).
• Proficient with MS Office and general software.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare functional, preliminary, detailed, and construction drawings, including presentation figures.
• Process survey data, develop base plans, and perform quantity take-offs.
• Coordinate and review project and shop drawings with managers, CAD staff, and stakeholders.
• Support general office drawing production and ensure compliance with CAD guidelines across jurisdictions.
• Follow project quality management plans to deliver accurate, timely, and efficient results.
