Job summary

A leading health care facility in Northwestern Ontario seeks a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Services. The ideal candidate will provide quality care for complex patient populations and must have valid RN registration in Ontario, BCLS certification, and recent Emergency Nursing experience. This role includes collaboration in a multidisciplinary team. Salary ranges from $40,240 to $57,680.

Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Recent experience in Emergency Nursing, including triaging patients and care of trauma patients.
  • Ability to manage multiple nursing interventions.

Job description

Reporting to the Manager of Emergency Services, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients including complex patient populations whose outcomes are not predictable. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within the Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy of patient and family centered care, mission, vision, Values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Applicants must have the following qualifications :
  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current certification in BCLS
  • Recent experience in Emergency Nursing with experience in the care of complex patient populations, including, but not limited to: triaging patients, care of multiple trauma patients
  • Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her / his basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery
  • Collaborates and provides consult to Registered Practice Nurse's when patients assigned to the RPN become unstable or have outcomes that are not as expected
  • Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
  • Strong interprofessional and communication skills
  • Central Venous Line Management
  • Certification or completion Lead II Arrhythmia Interpretation Program
In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be given to applicants who :
  • Have a certification, or recent continuing education in Emergency Nursing
  • Current certifications in TNCC, PALS, ENC(C), and ACLS
  • SADV training
Salary Range :

$40,240 to $57,680
