THUNDER BAY REGIONAL HEALTH SCIENCES CENTRE is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide quality nursing care to neurosurgical patients. The role involves multidisciplinary collaboration and adhering to Nursing Process for individualized care planning.

Applicants must hold an unrestricted RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, KBLS/BCLS certification, and demonstrate knowledge in neurosurgical nursing. A strong commitment to PFCC and provincial guidelines is essential.

About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patientsand families. Reporting to the Manager of Neurosurgical Services, you will beresponsible for providing quality nursing care to patients including complex patient populations whose outcomes arenot predictable. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within the ProfessionalStandards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy of patient and family centered care, mission vision,values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse withthe College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current certification in BCLS
  • Recent knowledge in Neurosurgical Nursing
  • Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery
  • Knowledge relevant to surgical nursing practice
  • Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
  • Strong interprofessional and communication skills

In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who:

  • Have the Canadian Neuroscience Certification or certificationin a recognized Neurology/Neurosurgery Course
  • Have a certification in Wound Care

Salary Range: $41.150 to 58.980
