Job summary

A healthcare service provider in Sioux Lookout is seeking a Registered Nurse for their wound care program. The role involves assessing, treating, and managing advanced wounds for both inpatients and outpatients. The ideal candidate will have a current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a minimum of one year of experience in wound care. This position also requires excellent communication and clinical skills. Salary ranges from $39.07 to $56.00 as per the ONA Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, the Registered Nurse develops, implements, evaluates enhanced wound care to inpatients and outpatients. The RN will work collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary health care team at Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) and partner agencies to support and enhance the services of the wound care program, and ensure the provision of safe, wholistic, patient centered care to our clients.

Qualifications
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic CPR certificate (BCLS) required.
  • Minimum one-year experience in assessment, treating and monitoring of advanced wounds.
  • Advanced wound care training.
  • WOCC(C) or IIWCC certification or willing to obtain.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, non-judgmental manner, team player.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Must be physically capable of performing duties of position.
Job Duties
  • Provide comprehensive wound assessments of inpatients and outpatient.
  • Develop and/or recommend a plan of care.
  • Act as an expert resource for other staff, physicians, and outside agencies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Offer educational support to patients with all types of wounds, skin issues, fistulas and ostomies.
  • Demonstrates proper technique for specialty dressings and procedures.
  • Other nursing duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing to work the present shift rotation (Monday – Friday, 0800-1600).
  • Regular and sustained attendance is essential for this position.

Salary: $39.07 – $56.00, in accordance with ONA Collective Agreement
