Qualifications

  • Experience in long-term care or geriatrics is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support resident care delivery in accordance with the Long-Term Care Homes Act.
  • Guide and evaluate Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) and Personal Support Workers (PSWs).
  • Administer medications and provide direct nursing care as outlined in care plans.
  • Ensure care practices align with physician orders and care plans.
  • Maintain communication with interdisciplinary teams for consistent care.
  • Uphold professional standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Accurately document resident care and report concerns to the Director of Care.
  • Participate in enforcing home policies related to staff performance.
