Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture (KMJV) seeks a seasoned Risk Manager to oversee risk management for the Bloor-Yonge Capacity Improvements Project in Toronto. You will partner with design, commercial, and construction teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring schedule and budget adherence while supporting client expectations.

Ideal candidates hold an Engineering-related degree with 15+ years in risk leadership on large transit or infrastructure programs and possess strong analytical

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in risk management within large-scale infrastructure or transit projects.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or RMP are assets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the project risk management plan.
• Facilitate risk identification and mitigation meetings across multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain the risk register with ownership, status, and mitigation progress.
• Maintain and update the risk register with ownership, status and mitigations.
• Prepare regular risk reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with design, construction, commercial, and estimating teams to integrate risk in cost and schedule forecasts.
• Support value engineering and change management from a risk perspective.
• Plan and conduct quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses at key milestones.
• Ensure transparent audit trails for risk assumptions and decisions.

Risk Manager

The Risk Manager is responsible for working closely with design, commercial, and construction teams to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks during the design and pre‑construction phases. This is a key role supporting informed decision‑making and ensuring the project remains on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Develop and maintain the project risk management plan, consistent with client and JV partner requirements.
• Facilitate risk identification, assessment, and mitigation meetings and discussions across multidisciplinary teams.
• Implement risk policies, processes, tools, and reporting cycles across all working groups.
• Maintain and update the risk register, tracking risk ownership, status, and mitigation progress.
• Prepare regular risk reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with design, construction, commercial, and estimating teams to integrate risk considerations into cost and schedule forecasts.
• Support value engineering and change management processes from a risk perspective.
• Plan, facilitate, and execute Quantitative Cost and Schedule Risk Analyses at key milestones (e.g., 0%, 30%, 50%, 70% design, Target Cost Validation).
• Interpret QRA outputs and produce actionable insights for project leadership.
• Ensure transparent audit trails for risk‑related assumptions, mitigations, and decisions.

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in risk management within large‑scale infrastructure or transit projects.
• Proficiency with risk management software is an asset.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, RMP, or equivalent are considered an asset.
• Collaborative approach with strong facilitation skills with and ability to challenge assumptions diplomatically.
• Excellent communication and leadership, able to translate technical outputs into simple messages for decision-makers
