Risk Manager

We are currently seeking a Risk Manager to join our Risk Management Canada team. Hybrid work model is a given, and base location could be anywhere in Canada. The role would include facilitation, delivery & report of project risk assessments using Monte Carlo simulation software (in‑house we have Safran, @Risk, ARM, and externally on of our key clients has OPRA).

This role will be based in Toronto, ON.

Your role within the team :

• Manage client project team relationships to continue project risk management support.
• Work with client project teams to gain understanding of projects, interrogate client issued documentation (scope, schedule, estimate).
• Facilitate risk workshops, ensuring suitable records are kept of discussions.
• Be able to interrogate MS Project and P6 to recreate a high‑level schedule for modelling purposes.
• Be able to interrogate cost information (usually excel) to classify project costs in terms of client, design, contractor costs, and extract contingency.
• Understand AACE classes and the implications of each.
• Input and run schedule modelling software - Safran preferred.
• Be able to use @Risk to generate cost model information, creation of modelling for various scenarios.
• Manage creation of slide decks, executive summaries, and full reports for each project – using standard templates, create draft text.
• QA checks of all documentation prior to issue to client.
• Manage multiple project workloads concurrently, able to prioritize work.
• Workshops may be virtual or travel to client required location.
• Travel requirements (if any) not expected to be more than once a month.
• Develop and update internal risk management training materials.
• Support internal project risk management and provide advice for best approach strategies for projects and proposals.
• Draft Risk content for RFPs.
• Maintain & regularly update internal processes, procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent business approach and alignment with corporate strategy.
• Generate risk management opportunities with external clients.

The ideal candidate :

• University Degree in Engineering or Construction or equivalent. Minimum of 15 years in Design / Construction environment.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in risk modelling.
• Proficient with Risk modelling software - @Risk is essential. Proficient with risk software is desired – Safran, PRC, ARM. Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
• Proficient with Primavera P6 – creation of projects from scratch is essential. Detail‑orientated.
• Problem solver.
• Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to balance and prioritize workloads.
• Nuclear security clearance will be obtained after recruitment, so a full traceable work history is essential.
• Fluent English‑speaking essential.
• French speaking desired.
