Job description

JCS Contracting & Marketing Ltd located at 9040 Leslie Street, Unit 206 Richmond Hill, Ontario L4B 3M4 is looking for a full‑time qualified rigger to conduct work at multiple locations across Canada for a permanent position at $37.00 per hour plus group benefits, including dental coverage. Speak English or French fluently; a second official language will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble or erect communication towers using construction or rigging equipment as new guyed towers, self-support towers, monopoles, tri‑poles, custom designed towers, clock towers, etc. from ground to completion of various heights.
  • Check antenna positioning to ensure specified azimuths or mechanical tilts and adjust as necessary.
  • Climb communication towers to install, replace, or repair antennas or auxiliary equipment used to transmit and receive radio waves.
  • Install all necessary transmission equipment components including antennas or antenna mounts, surge arrestors, transmission lines, connectors, or tower mounted amplifiers.
  • Install, connect, or test underground or aboveground grounding systems.
  • Perform maintenance or repair work on existing tower equipment using hand or power tools.
  • Perform general ground procedures, such as assembly of microwave dishes and steel structure assembly.
  • Installing steel, cable tray, antennas, cable, radios.
  • Installing MWs, dishes, alignment for RSL.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.
  • Construction skills related knowledge, rigging, and safety.
  • Installing, terminating, and testing all aspects of a wireless communication site including connectors and steel on towers and rooftops – antenna installation, MW dishes including MW alignments for RSL, mounting and removal along with RET systems and azimuth sweep testing.
  • Maintaining, managing, and organizing tools requirements.
Qualifications
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Good English skills both written and oral, ability to follow direction and work well within a team.
  • Able to follow technical documents, blueprints, and engineered drawings.
  • Valid driver's license and clean abstract required.
  • Manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude for proficient use of power tools and equipment.
  • Comfortable working at heights – climbing on ladders.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy and have a positive attitude.
Success in the Role
  • Possess manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks.
  • Ability to travel as needed; must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work alone, with strong multi‑tasking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment
  • Regular hours are 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., however some flexibility is required (nights may be required at times).
  • Work outside, at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Willing to travel.
  • Heavy lifting, manual work, and proficient use of installation tools.
