Job summary

Johnson Electric in Ancaster, ON is seeking a Rig Setup Production Associate to optimize manufacturing operations and improve production throughput. You will set up and maintain presses, troubleshoot issues, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity and quality.

You should have a Mechanical Tech diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years in high-speed manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to read blueprints and operate manufacturing systems.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary mechanical tech diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating and setting up manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and results orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Improve operational throughput through process optimization and monitoring.
  • Document process changes, setpoints, programs, and parameters through established control systems.
  • Reduce downtime by executing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
  • Identify non-standard operating conditions and communicate them to Production Supervisors for resolution.
  • Optimize utilization of tooling, labor, materials, and energy resources.
  • Set up, monitor, adjust, and maintain mechanical and hydraulic presses according to established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation, throughput, and product quality issues.
  • Review process sheets, technical documentation, and assembly information to execute job requirements.
  • Perform equipment cleaning, TPM activities, and minor repairs to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Maximize production output through continuous improvement initiatives and process monitoring.
  • Provide training and leadership to Production Associates to ensure production and quality requirements are met.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems.

What We’re Looking For
