Job description

As a Tactical Security Guard with Securiguard, you'll be more than a visible security presence—you'll be a frontline ambassador of safety, professionalism, and customer service in the retail environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are approachable, observant, and confident in handling dynamic situations. Tactical Guards play a critical role in maintaining a safe and welcoming space for staff, guests, and the community. From visible deterrence and proactive engagement to conducting recoveries and supporting staff during challenging situations, you'll balance professionalism with compassion to ensure a positive experience for everyone onsite.

What You Would Do
  • Maintain a strong, visible presence to deter theft and unwanted activity.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and assist guests and staff with professionalism.
  • Intervene proactively to deter thefts and unwanted behavior.
  • Safely conduct recoveries and apprehensions in line with procedures.
  • Respond quickly to incidents and de-escalate situations with a calm, professional approach.
  • Support store staff and management in safeguarding people, property, and reputation.
  • Complete accurate and timely incident reports.
Job Requirements
  • Valid BC Security Worker License (AST) in good standing.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) or higher; OFA 2 considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 1 year of security industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months of retail security or loss prevention experience an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first approach.
  • Confidence in managing stressful or confrontational situations with professionalism.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and respond quickly to security risks.
  • Must be able to stand and remain attentive during shifts of up to 8 hours.
  • Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
