Job summary

Acosta Group is currently seeking a results-oriented Sales and Merchandising Representative for Canada. You will execute in-store priorities across grocery and mass channels, focusing on direct sales, upselling, display building, and POS placement.

Ideal candidates bring grocery experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage relationships with clients across stores. Expect part-time hours and potential travel to remote locations.

Qualifications

• Sales experience in retail or consumer goods.
• Grocery/mass retail channel experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Weekday availability 8am–5pm.
• Strong verbal communication and rapport-building.
• Solid presentation-selling and objection-handling skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experienced in territory management.
• Willingness to travel; some overnight stays possible.
• Independent, organized, and self-motivated.
• Reliable internet access and ability to handle admin tasks online.
• Own computer/laptop with home internet and printer/scanner.
• Able to lift up to 30lbs and store POS at home location.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and build displays, manage POP materials, and ensure planogram compliance.
• Sell-in, call for orders, and support for promotions.
• Negotiate and build displays on site visits.
• Develop positive relationships with retail contacts.
• Deliver retail coverage per plan with efficient call frequency.
• Resolve store-level issues with urgency and professionalism.
• Drive distribution of core items and new innovations.
• Possible overnight or daily travel.

DESCRIPTION

We are currently recruiting a results-oriented Sales and Merchandising Representative to represent our clients.

This role offers you the unique opportunity to utilize your retail sales experience more strategically through the development of direct sales, merchandising, and POS placement.

As a member of Mosaic's Campbells, B&G and Coke Nutritional Beverage (SHARED) sales team, you will be responsible for the in-store execution of weekly program priorities across grocery and mass channels. These tasks include Direct Sales, Upselling, Negotiating & Building Display, Merchandising, Promotions, tablet reporting as well as maintaining the role as key contact for our clients across all serviced stores in the defined territory. Candidates ideally will have grocery experience.

• You are highly organized, independent, and a natural solver with a knack for sales and building strong customer relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assertive selling.

• Superior execution of core program fundamentals such as Sales, negotiating & building display, POP material, distribution of innovation & planogram compliance.

• Negotiate Sales - selling in, call for orders, in-line orders, and incremental retailer support for promotional programs.

• Displays - negotiating and building displays on every other visit to each store.

• Develop a positive working relationship with all key retail contacts.

• Execute and deliver retail coverage as per plan for efficient and effective call frequency and length.

• Resolve or escalation store-level issues exhibiting a sense of urgency and professionalism.

• Drive distribution on core items and New Innovation, sales, and share objectives.

• Possible overnight or daily travel

QUALIFICATIONS

• Sales experience

• Retail Channel experience in grocery & mass preferred but not mandatory

• Must have a valid driver's license and exclusive access to a vehicle

• Available to work on weekdays, 8am-5pm

• Highly effective verbal communication skills and the ability to develop rapport and credibility

• Effective presentation-selling skills and objection-handling techniques

• Effective Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel

• Experienced in territory management

• Must be willing to travel (Pending territory some overnight)

• Organized, flexible with the ability to work independently with limited supervision

• Daily access to Internet and email - able to complete administrative tasks including tracking, submitting call reports, checking email regularly for new product info, updates

• Must have a computer/laptop and printer/scanner with home internet

• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs

• Must be able to store POS at home location
