Job summary

Aramark Canada is seeking a Retail Manager to oversee seven retail food service locations, including franchise and catering activities, and a mobile food trailer. You will drive operational excellence, financial performance, food safety, and team development across all sites, reporting to the Food Service Director.

You will lead staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and supplier coordination while partnering with Marketing to promote promotions and grow sales, ensuring exceptional guest experiences

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of leadership in fast-paced food service or retail environments.
  • Experience managing multiple locations and diverse operating models.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver License with a clean driving record.
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, and labour management.
  • Knowledge of catering operations and mobile trailer operations is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee seven retail locations and ensure smooth day-to-day operation with hands-on leadership.
  • Implement and maintain Aramark and franchise standards, health & safety, and food safety compliance.
  • Lead staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management and succession planning.
  • Manage inventory controls, ordering, food costs, labour costs, and operating expenses.
  • Support catering operations and events, ensuring service excellence and readiness.
  • Oversee mobile trailer operations, including setup, licensing, and maintenance.
  • Audit site performance to ensure consistency in food quality, cleanliness, and service standards.
  • Partner with Marketing to execute promotions and drive sales growth.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and capital needs across locations.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts and action plans to hit financial targets.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Food Service Director, the Retail Manager oversees seven retail food service locations, including franchise concepts, proprietary concepts, catering support activities, and a mobile food trailer. The Retail Manager is responsible for operational excellence, financial performance, food safety compliance, team development, customer satisfaction, and business growth across all assigned locations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of all assigned locations and provide hands-on leadership.
  • Implement and maintain compliance with Aramark standards, franchise standards, health and safety legislation, and food safety requirements.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Responsible for inventory controls, ordering, receiving, food costs, labour costs, and direct operating expenses.
  • Support catering operations and special events, ensuring service excellence and operational readiness.
  • Oversee the operation, transportation, setup, licensing compliance, and maintenance of the mobile food trailer.
  • Conduct routine audits and site visits to ensure consistency in food quality, cleanliness, service standards, and operational execution.
  • Partner with Marketing to execute promotions and drive sales growth.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and capital needs across all locations.
  • Accountable for financial performance, including sales growth, profitability, food cost, labour cost, and controllable expenses.
  • Develop budgets, periodic forecasts, and action plans to achieve financial targets.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and period financial performance and pivot when needed to hit targets
  • Lead labour planning initiatives that balance guest service expectations with labour budgets.
  • Maintain all cash handling, banking, deposit, reconciliation, and audit procedures.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
  • Experience managing multiple food service locations and diverse operating models.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver License with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely drive and tow a trailer.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, and labour management.
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, menu planning is an asset.
  • Knowledge of catering operations, event planning, and banquet service is an asset.
  • Knowledge of mobile food service, food truck, or trailer operations is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, scheduling platforms, and inventory management software.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and special events as business needs require.
