Job summary

A leading lodge company in Canada seeks an Inventory Team Member responsible for maintaining organized inventory, transporting goods, and ensuring accurate stock levels. This role offers a full-time schedule with an hourly wage of $19.00 and includes staff accommodation for $10/day. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Job description
Overview

The Inventory Team Member is part of the retail team at Moraine Lake Lodge; with the warehouse and lodging for this position located in Field, BC. This position is responsible for moving stock from the warehouse in Field, BC to the Trading Post Gift Shop at Moraine Lake Lodge, as well as the daily warehouse operations of shipping, receiving and replenishment. As such, a valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract are required. The Inventory Team Member works towards the highest standards of warehouse organization and operations on a consistent and profitable basis and maintains a strong working relationship with the lodge management and retail manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain organized inventory at the lodge and warehouse locations,
  • Retrieve shipments from delivery locations and transport them to the warehouse or lodge locations,
  • Check that all received goods match the purchase order and are in good condition,
  • Report damaged or missing items, and notify the Senior Retail Manager/Buyer of any issues with deliveries
  • Perform physical counts of inventory, ensure accurate data entry, and reconcile system records,
  • Label items correctly and organize them by category, SKU, or other systems that facilitate easy retrieval,
  • Ensure that stock levels are accurate and align with business needs,
  • Investigate any discrepancies between physical counts and recorded inventory,
  • Communicate stock levels and purchase patterns with the Senior Retail Manager,
  • Ensure that all inventory storage areas are clean, organized, and free from potential hazards, and assist with store cleaning as needed,
  • Assist and facilitate restocking of the store location to ensure optimum product replenishment on a daily basis,
  • Train team members on warehouse procedures,
  • Support the retail team in the store as a retail sales associate as needed,
  • Contributing to a positive teamwork environment,
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a leadership role in a retail stockroom,
  • Excellent knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures,
  • Intermediate level of expertise with Windows Excel, Word and Outlook,
  • Experience with a computerized inventory system,
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale systems (POS),
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and take the initiative,
  • Second Language, an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Working Conditions
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business
  • While performing the duties of this position, Team Members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Occasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stool

  • Fulltime, 40 hours a week
  • Hourly wage of $19.00 per hour with an end of contract bonus
  • Staff accommodation: $10/day, includes all meals and laundry
