Aramark is recruiting a full-time Retail Food Service Manager to oversee culinary retail operations at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. You will lead front-of-house activities, plan service, and ensure quality, safety, and customer satisfaction across outlets.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing food and labor costs, implementing beverage and dining solutions, and upholding Aramark standards to support student success and campus dining excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a retail or fast-food franchise outlet.
• 2-3 years food service supervisory or management experience.
• Experience directing the work of others; team leadership.
• Experience in or with unionized environments preferred.
• Ability to manage food, labour and operating costs to maximise revenues.
• Customer-first attitude and strong communication in a retail setting.

We are hiring a full time Retail Food Service Manager to oversee our culinary retail operations at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. The food retail outlets are where campus customers order prepared foods from a menu. The Food Service Manager is responsible for developing and implementing beverage and dining solutions to meet customer needs and tastes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the front of the house of the Retail operation with the Food Service Director
• Plans, directs, and coordinates food service activities to deliver a finished product
• Oversees various food retail outlets ensuring Aramark standards of services are maintained
• Follows the Operational Excellence fundamentals by maintaining food and labour initiatives
• Ensures individual and team is trained, and performance meets objective and client expectations
• Brings value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
• Plans, directs, and coordinates food service activities to deliver a finished product to the customer
• Supervises the team regarding production, quality, and control
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for patrons and employees

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a retail or fast-food franchise outlet is required
• 2-3 years food service supervisory or management experience is required
• Experience in directing the work of others as per job duties and business requirements
• Experience working in or managing in a unionized environment preferred
• Experience managing and controlling food, labour, and operational costs to maximize revenues
• Ability to act with a ‘Customer comes first attitude’ to meet and exceed expectations
• Effective oral communication skills and knowledge of the retail environment
• Maintain effective working relationships with managers, staff and patrons
