Job summary

Bayside Gas and Convenience is seeking a reliable Store Cashier in Nova Scotia to join our team. You will handle fuel and in-store merchandise sales, tobacco, lottery, and related items with a focus on accuracy and friendly service.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, processing cash and card payments, stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, and keeping the store clean and safe. You will greet customers professionally and follow store policies to ensure a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred/asset.
• Previous retail or cashier experience is an asset.
• Must be of legal age to sell tobacco/nicotine, lottery products.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers courteously and professionally.
• Manage transactions using the POS system.
• Process payments: cash, debit, credit, and cheque.
• Issue receipts and retain merchant copies.
• Accurately scan and price goods.
• Handle inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Maintain clean checkout and store areas.
• Track transactions and report discrepancies.
• Process returns and exchanges.
• Stock shelves and unload deliveries.
• Rotate stock and remove expired items.
• Enforce age verification for restricted products.
