As a Retail Assistant Manager at Cypress Mountain, you’ll bring your love of the outdoors and passion for great guest experiences to our mountaintop retail team. From cozy gear to must‑have souvenirs, you’ll help create a warm and welcoming space where guests can find everything they need for their day on the slopes. Working alongside an energetic team, you’ll support daily operations, lead by example, and make sure the shop runs as smoothly as freshly groomed corduroy. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Retail Manager in hiring, training, and motivating a passionate team.
- Oversee floor team member scheduling, daily opening/closing duties, POS management, and ensure smooth store operations.
- Provide exceptional service on the sales floor, resolving concerns, and creating positive experiences.
- Ensure merchandising and displays align with Cypress Mountain’s brand standards and seasonal promotions.
- Support implementation of promotions, events, and sales strategies designed to drive revenue and guest engagement.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, monitoring inventory levels, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Help uphold Boyne Resorts’ brand guidelines and ensure the store meets audit requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining & surpassing Boyne Standard Audits at outlet.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and recognition to team members to foster growth and retention.
- Responsible for assisting with expense & revenue budgets.
- Serve as a brand manager to ensure a clear brand vision across the organization and alignment of the guest experience across all touchpoints.
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders to identify growth opportunities and support alignment on revenue generation.
- Lead the planning and execution of targeted promotions to drive sales and special offers.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
- Passion for outdoor activities and intermediate or advanced skiing and snowboarding ability is an asset.
- Experience in the ski resort, outdoor recreation, hospitality, or tourism industry is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership skills, time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with RTP or other POS/inventory systems is an asset.
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment and adaptable in a diverse working environment.
- Well organized, punctual, hardworking, self‑motivated, and outgoing.
- The ability to remain organized and courteous when under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving and decision‑making skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- 2+ years retail leadership experience.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Insured and reliable vehicle with winter tires for travel to and from the mountain.
