Job summary

The Library Table & Bar in Paris, Ontario is seeking a part-time, permanent Restaurant Server. You will welcome guests, share menu knowledge, and deliver attentive service in a fast-paced setting inside The Arlington Hotel.

Qualifications

• Smart Serve certification is required.
• Availability for daytime lunch shifts is required.
• Experience in banquet, catering, restaurant, or high-volume service is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and guide them through their dining experience with care and confidence.
• Answer questions about menu items, specials, and wine pairings.
• Take orders and enter them into the POS system, then deliver promptly.
• Maintain presentation and timing standards and check in with guests as needed.
• Process payments (cash, debit, credit) and support basic bartending tasks as needed.
• Keep service areas clean and organized and communicate with kitchen and bar teams.

Position Details:

Job Type: part‑time, permanent

What you will be doing:

As a Restaurant Server, you’ll help make every visit welcoming and memorable through attentive service, strong menu knowledge, and genuine connection with guests.

• Welcoming guests and guiding them through their dining experience with care and confidence
• Answering questions about menu items, specials, and wine pairings
• Taking food and beverage orders and entering them into the POS system
• Delivering orders promptly while maintaining presentation and timing standards
• Checking in with guests and addressing concerns in a timely manner
• Processing cash, debit, and credit transactions
• Helping with basic bartending tasks, such as preparing drinks and garnishes, as needed
• Keeping service areas clean and organized
• Communicating with kitchen, bar, and service teams
• Following directions from the Restaurant Manager and contributing to daily operations
• Performing additional duties as assigned to support the success of the restaurant
