Job description

Mark Anthony Group is an entrepreneurial drinks company, built from the ground up by thinking differently, innovating and doing the unexpected. Our company is rooted in family values, a bold vision and relentless determination to continuously raise the bar and make a positive difference in consumers' lives. Founded in 1972, we’ve grown organically from a one-person import wine business into an international drinks company. Our hallmarks include a portfolio of iconic beverage brands—White Claw® Hard Seltzer, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Olé Cocktail Co. alongside a collection of luxury wineries in the Okanagan Valley, notably Mission Hill Family Estate, CedarCreek Estate Winery, Martin’s Lane Winery, and CheckMate Artisanal Winery.

The Role

The Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill Family Estate is entering an exciting new chapter: one defined by precision, elevated hospitality, and the ambition to secure and maintain a place on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants. We are seeking a Restaurant Manager who will shape the vision, elevate the guest experience, and lead a large, passionate seasonal team to deliver consistent excellence. You will collaborate closely with the Estate Chef and senior leadership to ensure every touchpoint — from reservation to farewell — reflects the artistry, detail, and care expected of a top fine‑dining restaurant. This role exists to bring dedicated, on‑the‑floor leadership to a flagship culinary destination that blends the beauty of the Okanagan with world‑class food, wine, and genuine warmth.

Restaurant Leadership & Guest Experience
  • Steward the Terrace Restaurant as a nationally and internationally competitive fine‑dining destination aligned with Canada’s top‑tier hospitality standards.
  • Bring clarity and consistency to service philosophy, pacing, ambiance, and guest journey.
  • Lead the ongoing refinement of the end‑to‑end guest experience, identifying friction points and introducing moments that surprise and delight.
  • Benchmark against Michelin‑recognized and Canada’s 100 Best establishments, implementing best practices into daily operations.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to harmonize food, wine, storytelling, and service execution.
  • Drive off‑season concept development and collaboration with Events Team to elevate dining experience.
Team Leadership & Culture Development
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and manage a high‑performing seasonal service team capable of executing fine dining service at a nationally and internationally recognized level.
  • Build a culture of professionalism, accountability, and pride, where service staff understand their role in achieving Canada’s 100 Best recognition.
  • Develop Terrace Supervisors as future leaders, setting clear expectations and providing consistent coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Lead by example on the floor, modeling calm authority, hospitality excellence, and attention to detail during peak service periods.
  • Build a culture where standards are high, coaching is consistent, and the team feels both empowered and supported.
  • Ensure all Front of House team members are fully trained in menu knowledge, wine pairing, service choreography, and brand storytelling.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee daily service readiness, reservations, staffing, and FOH‑BOH communication.
  • Uphold rigorous standards for mise en place, tableware, cleanliness, and overall environment aligned with a Top 100 dining experience.
  • Manage inventory, accuracy, TOCK/OpenTable/Auphan updates, and data‑driven reporting.
  • Maintain financial discipline — controlling labour, COGS, and service efficiency.
Reputation Building & Relationship Management
  • Own service recovery, guest feedback, and continuous experience improvements.
  • Build meaningful relationships with regular guests, industry leaders, media, and evaluators.
  • Support high‑visibility services, ensuring flawless execution during critical visits.
Who You Are
  • 8–10 years of restaurant experience in James Beard awarded / Canadian top 100 independent restaurant and/or Michelin star experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Hotel Management, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership in hospitality, F&B, or luxury retail delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency with hospitality systems.
  • WSET Level 2 or higher is an asset; equivalent sommelier‑track knowledge also valued.
  • Strong understanding of wine pairing and high‑end beverage service.
  • Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams with professionalism, clarity, and warmth.
  • Strong operational skill set: multi‑tasking, prioritizing, and executing under fast‑paced conditions.
  • Financial management capabilities, including labour, COGS, and service efficiency.
  • Familiarity with OpenTable, Auphan/AUPhan, or similar systems (trainable).
