Job summary

LOCAL Public Eatery in Calgary, AB seeks an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations across front-of-house, bar and kitchen. This permanent full-time role offers $36.00 per hour and a standard 40-hour week, with shifts that may run from mornings to late evenings.

You will recruit, train, and coach a high-performing team, manage budgets, uphold service standards, and ensure safety and sanitation compliance in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • College program in food service administration, restaurant management or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in food preparation or service management.
  • Prior experience supervising is an asset.
  • Proven ability to develop, coach and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Proactively recruit, hire and retain talent.
  • Ability to manage in-store budgets and forecasts.
  • High attention to detail with integrity to elevate the guest experience.
  • English language ability is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage the day-to-day operations of LOCAL Public Eatery, including front-of-house, bar, and kitchen activities.
  • Implement and oversee service standards and operational procedures to ensure a consistent and high-quality guest experience.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff performance, fostering a positive team culture and supporting employee development.
  • Prepare staff schedules based on operational needs and ensure appropriate coverage during peak periods.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track revenue, and adjust processes to achieve cost control and sales targets.
  • Address customer feedback and complaints in a timely and professional manner, maintaining high service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations as required by provincial and municipal authorities.
  • Manage supplier relationships for food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.

You will gain an understanding of how LOCAL Public Eatery leads-through people within a fun, energetic, entrepreneurial environment. Our goal is to provide you with the training and education you need to feel empowered to lead, grow and learn.

We are currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Restaurant Manager to join our team in Calgary, AB. This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) with a wage of $36.00 per hour. The standard 8-hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 9AM and 2AM, as required.
