Position Type: Full-Time

Mrs. Riches, a well-established and beloved local restaurant, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef/Manager to join our team. This is a full-time leadership role that combines hands‑on kitchen work with management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure high food quality and consistency
  • Responsible for the hiring and termination of kitchen staff
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to all kitchen staff—supporting their work, training, and development
  • Keep team updated on all policies and procedures
  • Create and manage work schedules for all kitchen staff, assigning duties accordingly
  • Conduct pre‑shift meetings with both front and back of house staff to communicate daily functions, product shortages, and featured items
  • Ensure all inventory of food and equipment is accounted for and secured upon kitchen closing
  • Maintain composure and professionalism at all times, especially during high‑volume periods
  • Ensure all kitchen personnel are supported and fully prepared for peak hours
  • Monitor inventory, ordering, and cost control
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations
  • Foster a positive, efficient, and collaborative work environment
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a chef and/or kitchen manager (5+ years preferred)
  • Excellent communicator with a strong focus on people and personalities
  • Motivated, energetic, and a positive self‑starter
  • Highly organized with the ability to problem‑solve effectively
  • Approachable and charismatic leadership style
  • A true passion for providing a great experience—for both guests and staff
  • Strong leadership and team‑building skills
  • Ability to manage a fast‑paced kitchen
  • Consistent punctuality is essential
  • Valid ServSafe certification required
  • Passion for wine and spirits and bar service is an asset
  • Food Safe certification and culinary education are assets
Compensation
