Airbus Canada Limited Partnership is seeking an Aircraft Flight Controls Systems Lead to join the Chief Engineering team in Mirabel, Québec. You will own the end-to-end technical roadmap for the A220 flight control system and validate architectures to meet stringent safety and certification requirements.

This senior role requires extensive aerospace flight controls experience, leadership across disciplines, and the ability to present strategic solutions to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Arbitrate trade studies to maintain the program’s critical path while safeguarding safety.

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an Aircraft Flight Controls Systems Lead to join our Chief Engineering team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada).

You will be part of the Chief Engineering team responsible for carrying full technical authority and responsibility for the aircraft design in compliance with airworthiness regulations, product and passenger safety, environmental protection, aircraft operability, design maturity, security and airport operations requirements. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as Aircraft Flight Controls Systems Lead will be to prepare the next generation of the A220 flight controls systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to‑end technical roadmap for the A220 integrated flight control.
• Validate and authorize the next‑generation flight‑control architecture to ensure compliance with stringent product requirements (TPR) and business objectives (TPO).
• Be the voice of A220 towards the Airbus integrated flight‑control system Product Line.
• Steer the technical activities from the earliest requirement phases (Pre‑MG3) through to post‑Entry‑Into‑Service (EIS) corrections and chair Maturity Gate (MG) technical feeders accordingly.
• By chairing technical governance, ensure multidisciplinary harmonisation and technical alignment for successful integration of the next‑generation flight‑control system architecture with the various aircraft systems.
• Arbitrate trade studies and pivot strategies to maintain the program’s critical path without compromising safety.
• Authorize the V&V strategies and plans at aircraft level that ensure the flight‑control system meets maturity objectives and safety.
• Approve Safety Of Flight (SOF), RSI for ground and flight test, and Request for Test (RFT) for flight test.

Vos défis:

• Dans ce rôle, vous relèverez du chef de la conception générale des systèmes au sein de l'organisation de l'Ingénieur en Chef, et vous serez chargé de travailler avec des équipes inter fonctionnelles pour superviser les développements de systèmes, et plus précisément dans le domaine des contrôles de vol : Définir la feuille de route technique complète du système de commandes de vol intégré de l’A220;
• Valider et autoriser l’architecture de commandes de vol de nouvelle génération afin de garantir sa conformité aux exigences produit (TPR) et aux objectifs commerciaux (TPO);
• Représenter l’A220 auprès de la gamme de produits des systèmes de commandes de vol intégrés d’Airbus;
• Piloter les activités techniques depuis les premières phases d’analyse des exigences (pré-MG3) jusqu’aux corrections post‑mise en service (EIS) et animer les réunions techniques d’évaluation des étapes clés (MG);
• En assurant la gouvernance technique, garantir l’harmonisation multidisciplinaire et l’alignement technique nécessaires à l’intégration de l’architecture du système de commandes de vol de nouvelle génération avec les différents systèmes de l’aéronef;
• Arbitrer les études comparatives et adapter les stratégies afin de maintenir le cap critique du programme sans compromettre la sécurité;
• Autoriser les stratégies et les plans de vérification et de validation (V&V) au niveau de l'aéronef afin de garantir que le système de commandes de vol réponde aux objectifs de maturité et de sécurité;
• Approuver les autorisations de vol (SOF), RSI pour les tests au sol et en vol et les demandes d'essais en vol (RFT).

Votre profil:

• Vous êtes titulaire d’un Baccalauréat ou d’une Maîtrise universitaire en ingénierie ou dans un domaine équivalent;
• Vous avez au moins 15 ans d'expérience dans la conception ou l'intégration de systèmes de commandes de vol;
• Maîtrise des lois de commande de vol primaires et secondaires;
• Expérience dans l'obtention d'un certificat de type (CT) ou d'une modification majeure pour un système aéronautique majeur;
• Capacité à diriger des équipes techniques transversales et interfonctionnelles et à remettre en question les solutions techniques;
• Aptitude à présenter des solutions et des plans à la direction;
• Connaissance du processus de développement des systèmes, des interactions avec la conception de la cellule et les disciplines techniques, ainsi que du processus de conformité à la navigabilité.

Ce poste peut impliquer des déplacements professionnels (dans le monde entier). Déplacements requis : Déplacements occasionnels à l'étranger.
