Job summary

A leading mining company in Ontario seeks a Resource Geologist to interpret geological data and create models necessary for mineral resource estimates. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards while updating resource models. Candidates should have a Post-Secondary Education in Geology, relevant geological experience, and proficiency in geological software. A P.Geo registration is required or must be eligible to register.

Resource Geologist (MAC00334)

Reporting to the Senior Resource Geologist, you will be part of the Geology Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Responsibilities
  • Interpreting geological data to create 3D lithological, mineralization and structural models
  • Utilize technologies and work with partners and stakeholders to develop geological models and a global mineral resource estimate following NI 43-101 standards and the best practice guidelines;
  • Ensure all data is being used in compliance with QA/QC standards
  • Update the short‑term resource models while coordinating with the Geology and Engineering teams
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department in the generation of mineral reserves and resources to maximize geological objectives
  • Complete quarterly reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of geological models
  • Work with different teams to generate long‑term mineral resource growth strategies while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and Company safety, Health and Environmental standards and Procedures.
Qualifications
  • Post‑Secondary Education in Geology;
  • P.Geo, or eligible to register;
  • Strong appreciation and knowledge of structural & production geology;
  • 3‑5 years in underground gold mining;
  • Strong ability with geological software (Datamine, Leapfrog, Fusion, DH Logger, AutoCAD, etc.);
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Work Schedule

Schedule: 5/4 or 4/3 (Monday to Thursday) schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
