A community-focused organization based in Parksville is seeking a Residential Child and Youth Worker to provide care for children and youth with behavioral challenges. This permanent full-time position involves assessing needs, developing service plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of persons served. The ideal candidate holds a Child and Youth Care Degree or equivalent with at least two years of relevant experience. The Residential Child and Youth Worker (RCYW) provides care to children, youth or adults with moderate to severe behavioural problems in a residential or day program setting in an accredited agency. As key worker for assigned persons served, the RCYW is responsible for overall development and care of those individuals. In conjunction with the individual’s care team, the RCYW assesses physical, psychological, social and developmental needs, and designs and implements individualized personal service plans and plans of care that address and meet those needs. The RCYW also participates in the operation and maintenance of the program.
This Overnight Awake position attends to the health, well‑being, safety and security of persons served and the program site at night, and provides general, non‑specific services to clients as required. Maintains a comfortable and clean living environment.
One (1) permanent full‑time position with a weekly schedule of 40 hours.
Successful applicants will be required to participate in MCFD screening prior to confirmed employment with Taproot Community Support Services.
Applicants will be required to provide three (3) professional references that Taproot Community Support Services will be able to contact in a timely manner at time of interview.
