Job summary
A community support organization in Winnipeg seeks a dedicated Program Support Worker to provide supervision and support to clients dealing with addiction and mental health issues. The role involves ensuring basic needs are met, assisting with community outings, and maintaining client confidentiality. Candidates must hold a High School diploma and possess strong communication skills. Shift work including evenings and weekends is required, alongside a commitment to supporting residents' well-being.
Qualifications
- Life or work experience dealing with women with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues.
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate is considered an asset.
- Valid First Aid / CPR Certification an asset.
Responsibilities
- Communicate matters of concern related to resident’s needs.
- Provide guidance to residents in conjunction with treatment staff.
- Advise residents regarding addictions using a non-disease model.
Skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Knowledge of Indigenous history and culture
Self-motivated and well organized
Education
Grade 12 High School or equivalent
