A leading educational institution in Canada is seeking a Resident Resource Coordinator for the College of Medicine. This role focuses on non-academic support for residents, development and implementation of wellness programs, and collaboration with various stakeholders within the healthcare system. The ideal candidate has at least three years of related experience, strong communication skills, and a master's level education in relevant fields. PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Resident Wellness Coordinator (Non-academic support) is responsible for the non-academic support across the PGME program. This position assists residents in coping with professional and personal challenges by providing individual resident support, accommodations, access/referral to counseling, financial advising, student loan assistance, and other resources while developing proactive strategies and workshops around health and wellness and career transitions. The role supplies accurate, timely advice to the Associate Dean, PGME Committee, and Program Directors on continuing and emergent resident wellbeing issues.
NATURE OF WORK: Reporting to the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education and the PGME Manager, this position establishes and maintains professional relationships with residents, faculty, departments, and external agencies. The incumbent works within a team and independently, manages competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and ensures compliance with accrediting bodies, College of Medicine, and University policies. Some travel within the province may be required.
Education: Master’s level training in medical education and adult learning, or a master’s level training/background in social work, human resources, or psychology. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience: At least three to five years of related experience. Experience in a university environment or health care organization, working collaboratively with medical educators, learners, and health care professionals, is an asset. Knowledge of Canadian postgraduate medical education processes is required.
