Extendicare is seeking an Activity Aide in Alberta to support resident programming and engagement across our long-term care homes. This part-time role involves delivering therapeutic and diversional activities, coordinating planning, and documenting outcomes to enhance quality of life for residents.

The candidate should have a Recreation degree or diploma with LTC experience or a related field with adapted programming coursework, and strong communication in English.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Recreation with experience in a long term care setting.
• Diploma in related field with completion of a course in adapted programming and experience in long term care.

Responsabilités

• Delivery of resident programming: therapeutic, diversional, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
• Public relations activities including fundraising and liaising with schools and service clubs.
• Customer service involving resident, family and volunteer interaction.
• Quality improvement: obtain feedback and implement improvement strategies.
• Occupational Health and Safety: follow legislation and safety policies, participate in required training.
• Privacy: protect confidentiality of health care and employee information.
• Resident/Family safety: ensure duties are carried out per policy and legislation.
