Job description

Job Overview:

The Resident Manager is responsible for the daily operations of assigned apartment buildings, including leasing, administrative tasks, light maintenance, cleaning, and providing excellent customer service to tenants.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Advertising and showing units to prospective tenants, answering rental inquiries, processing applications, assisting with credit checks, emailing documents to Head Office, and recording all interactions.
  2. Managing the building by overseeing rent collection, tenant follow-up, handling inquiries, showing units, reference checks, delivering notices, being available during working hours and emergencies, and organizing tenant events.
  3. Maintaining fire safety logs, updating safety plans, completing paperwork, reviewing rent rolls for accuracy, and participating in audits.
  4. Performing clerical duties such as organizing receipts, quotes, purchase orders, responding to emails, documenting incidents, and faxing.
  5. Handling cleaning and maintenance tasks, including cleaning common areas, managing maintenance requests, performing small repairs, overseeing contractors, and outdoor seasonal cleaning like raking, snow shoveling, and salting walkways.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or minimum five years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; automobile insurance may be required.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, email, and web navigation.
  • Knowledge of regional policies, industry standards, municipal by-laws, and applicable provincial legislation (e.g., Residential Tenancy Act, Building Codes, Fire Codes, Occupational Health and Safety Act) is an asset.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, push, pull, and navigate stairs.
