Job summary

City of Vancouver is seeking a Residence Attendant to provide tenant services, custodial duties, and clerical support in non-market housing, ensuring a safe, compassionate, and respectful environment for tenants facing mental health, addictions, homelessness or poverty.

The role includes rounds, front desk monitoring, basic janitorial tasks, incident reporting, and coordination with the Residence Manager. Employment type is Auxiliary/Casual with start date in November 2026.

Qualifications

• Education: Grade 11 with substantial related housing experience or equivalent.
• Mandatory: WorkSafeBC Level 1 First Aid.
• Mandatory: Limited Boiler Operator Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds of floors, public spaces and exterior areas, identify hazards, document issues.
• Provide compassionate tenant support, wellness checks, and information on local services.
• Respond to emergencies, de-escalate situations, administer basic First Aid, and notify Residence Manager.
