Intelligent Computing and Adaptive Networking Research Group

The Intelligent Computing and Adaptive Networking Research Group invites applications for a limited number of highly qualified Research, PhD and Postdoctoral Fellow positions in few research areas. We are seeking Graduate Researchers to join our research teams in Lebanon, UAE, Canada, and Italy to collaborate on international projects. Individuals in this role are expected to be recognized experts in identified research areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and Cyber Security, where they will be leading a team of researchers and developers. The ideal candidates will have keen interest in producing new science to understand intelligence and technology. Successful candidates will be required to have flexibility for spending time in Lebanon, UAE, Canada and/or Italy as required by some projects.

Eligibility and Minimum Qualifications

Prospective candidates must have earned BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields, have demonstrated an ability— or show promise and interest — in conducting innovative research in AI and Cybersecurity, and have demonstrated:

• Experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, optimization and algorithms
• Technical knowledge in Machine Learning
• Experience in coding and performing experiments and simulations
• Research and software engineering experience via publications, internship, work experience, and coding competitions
• Knowledge of some big data analysis platforms
• Familiarity with common stacks
• Knowledge of some front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
• Knowledge of some back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Lead international academic and industrial research projects (Only for MS and PhD Holders)
• Lead other researchers and developers (Only for MS and PhD)
• Perform research and development to advance the science and technology of intelligent systems and big data analytics
• Influence progress of relevant research communities by producing high quality publications
• Collaborate and increase productivity on existing research projects
• Perform development tasks, experiments, and simulations

Position context

• The appointment is on a full-time basis and consists of significant research and development endeavors
• Some positions require having flexibility for spending time in Lebanon, UAE, Italy, and Canada as required by some projects
