Job description

The Requirements and Acceptance Specialist II is responsible for the initiation, tracking and acceptance of project requirements. This position will work towards the management of and delivery Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) which demonstrate that the work has been completed in accordance with the contract, the Customer Specification, Class and Regulatory requirements, and internal Quality Control (QC) requirements.

Note : Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 825 Admirals Road, Victoria.

What you'll do
  • Participate in all phases of projects, including requirements breakdown, execution, and close-out activities
  • Develop, manage and maintain tools to track customer requirements to identify and reduce duplication.
  • Liaise with Production to determine detailed Inspection Items related to Inspection Points.
  • Identify and coordinate deliverables to satisfy customer needs.
  • Monitor Inspection Point and manage OQE progress to ensure progressive and timely close out.
  • Detailed review of Customer documentation packages to ensure that all deliverables have been met.
  • Interpret specifications, arising work, and Customer provided technical information to identify new inspection points, adjustments to existing inspection points, and internal QC points.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve OQE issues.
  • Support non-conformances for failed inspections and customer complaints.
  • Review and verify traceability of materials to work scope.
  • Participate in lessons learned throughout project execution and at close-out as required.
  • Participate in Customer facing meetings such as project review meetings as required.
  • Support with facilitation of inspections as required.
  • Additional duties as required
What you'll bring
  • 4-7 years of experience with complex projects involving diverse participants or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Diploma of Technology or equivalent experience
  • Quality (ISO 9001) experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of requirements and acceptance management.
  • Well versed with interpreting functional drawings.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and initiative to plan to execute the requirements and acceptance activities.
  • Interpersonal skills including negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy including a knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Technical skills and understanding of modern shipbuilding design, procurement and production techniques are desirable.
  • Commitment to operational efficiency and process improvement.
  • Ability to move frequently between office, fabrication shop, graving dock, and onboard vessels.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of program management and project management skills is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Power BI is an asset.

The estimated salary for this position is $84,600 -$103,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
