We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Sales Representative for our Electrical division. This role will be home-based and reports to our St. Laurent sales office. It reports to the Quebec Sales Manager for Electrical.

Job Summary

The Sales Representative will aim to achieve or surpass sales targets for IPEX within pricing guidelines, terms of sale, and distribution channels, focusing on developing new and existing markets. The role also involves providing technical advice on applications and installations.

  • Maintain and generate sales for IPEX Electrical Systems distributors, understanding market and competitive activity to engage with distributorship managers and purchasing representatives. Promote IPEX products during sales calls to secure commitments.
  • Foster positive relationships with all IPEX customers through regular communication of product information. After delivery, evaluate customer satisfaction to enhance relations.
  • Serve as an engineering/technical resource, servicing existing accounts and generating new business through frequent visits. Prepare presentations to gather customer information and recommend IPEX products that meet their needs, aiming to grow sales through education.
  • Build long-term relationships with contractors, engineers, and end users, promoting product quality and application to secure their commitment.
  • Investigate and follow up on new customer inquiries, cold calls, and untapped markets to develop sales opportunities. Participate in trade shows and promotional activities.
  • Prepare quotations, follow up on orders and quotations, and maintain regular contact with customers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, especially customer service, to communicate customer information and relevant data.
  • Document all sales activities to assist in sales forecasting and cost analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of sales experience in a related industry is required.
  • Experience with Electrical systems distribution and contractors.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage schedules effectively, and possess thorough product knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability, initiative, and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Quick learner of new systems.
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual in French and English is an asset.
