Job Details: Job Title: Repair Technician

Job Summary: This position applies comprehensive technical knowledge to assist in the maintenance of both hardware and software equipment to assure operating requirements for all the UOTS and CWES systems. When not conducting the primary functions above, they may be called upon to assist in the conduct of the training by working as an Observer Analyst (OA) in order to analyze training and produce After Action Review (AAR) products. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. This position applies comprehensive technical knowledge to assist in the maintenance of both hardware and software equipment to assure operating requirements for all the UOTS and CWES eqpt.

Responsibilities
  • Technically minded and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Administer virtual environment.
  • Administer Windows Server environment including domain control, storage and software updates.
  • Assist in the administration of a Local Area Network.
  • Install and exchange software / hardware in field equipment.
  • Perform hardware and software maintenance CWES/UOTS eqpt.
  • Operate electronic test equipment to perform functional, operational, and environmental tests to evaluate performance of components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
  • Conduct analysis of equipment malfunctions and utilize documentation and verbal instructions to rework, repair, test, troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain files to document and support the maintenance effort and keep a record of all maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required, such as assisting an OA during an exercise, issuing equipment and coordinating support for an exercise.
  • Shift work and overtime beyond 40 hours per week required during exercise periods.
  • Require a 3-month probationary period.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Two-year college degree, or equivalent, in electronics or information systems and/or equivalent experience and training. Must be able to solve complex problems/tasks that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Working knowledge of military operations, training and procedures.
  • Very familiar and comfortable using computers, associated hardware and test equipment.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office programs, to include spreadsheets. Valid driver’s license. Proof of the legal right to work in Canada and secret security clearance from the Canadian Government. Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Physically fit, able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and able to work in tight spaces. Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and to climb stairs. May be required to travel periodically, both nationally and internationally. Prefer Military experience in Signals, software / hardware background with a former rank of MCpl – Capt. Familiarity with the interrelationship of circuits and judgement in executing work sequences and selection of tools and test equipment. Familiarity with database structures.
Pay and Additional Information

Cubic Pay Range: $1.00 - $1.00 + benefits.
