Job summary

EDF Renewable Energy, Inc. in Toronto, Ontario, seeks an Undergraduate or Graduate Student to join our internship program focused on project development across wind, solar, and energy storage.

You will assist with permitting, land control, and market analyses while gaining hands-on experience in a leading North American renewables team. You will learn to build a business case, analyze financials, and support stakeholder engagement, with mentorship and opportunities for growth within EDFps'

Qualifications

• Prior knowledge of the renewable energy industry is an asset.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint,Word, PowerBI
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Curious and not afraid to ask questions or dig deeper into an issue or a problem
• High attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all activities

Responsibilities

• Project Development: assisting with permitting, land control, and project management for wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
• Business Development: supporting investment thesis, cost-benefit and financial analyses for new projects.
• Presentation and Approvals: assisting in building project review and approval presentations for management.
• Power Marketing: reading Power Purchase Agreements and assessing contractual impacts on project economics.
• Competition Tracking: monitoring news and market reports to identify competitor sites and risks.
• Greenfield Development: identifying potential locations using GIS and assessing site value.
• Community Engagement: researching questions and drafting responses from communities regarding solar, wind and storage projects.
• Land Use Justification for Solar: researching benefits of solar on farmland and creating marketing content.
• Other tasks as required.
