Job description

Northbound Planning is a private planning and development consulting firm that provides community and regional planning and support for municipalities across Saskatchewan.

We are recruiting for the position of a Transcriptionist.

About the Position

Reporting to the Manager of Municipal Services, the Transcriptionist is responsible for producing accurate and timely transcriptions of Board of Revision hearings. The role involves listening to audio files of proceedings and ensuring the transcription accurately identifies speakers and their statements.

This position requires strong English skills, capable writing, and an understanding of land locations, descriptions, and associated acronyms. Knowledge of legislation and regulations is a valuable asset.

This is a remote work position. Candidates must have reliable high-speed internet, a private workspace, and be computer literate. Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, transcription software, and managing documents via OneDrive is essential.

The role is a full-time contract from August to December 1, 2023. Initial training will be during daytime hours (8:00-17:00). Post-training, candidates can set their own schedule, including evenings and weekends, provided deadlines are met. There is potential for role expansion into a full-time, ongoing position.

Qualifications include post-secondary education in legal assistance, administration, business, or a related field, along with 3+ years of office experience. Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
