Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer across Infrastructure Platforms (AMER) with intermediate to senior staff experience. You will maintain reliable, scalable public services, build automation, and run production systems on Kubernetes while embracing GitLab's AI-enabled workflow.

You’ll participate in on-call shifts, improve runbooks, and contribute to observability, incident reviews, and automation. We hire end-to-end reliability expertise across a distributed, remote-first team.

Qualifications

• Experience keeping production systems reliable.
• Hands-on with Terraform, Kubernetes operators or controllers.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP or AWS).
• Strong written communication in distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Keep user-facing services reliable, scalable, and efficient.
• Build automation and tooling to reduce toil.
• Operate and troubleshoot production systems on Kubernetes.
• Maintain infrastructure as code and ship changes via CI/CD and GitOps.
• Participate in on-call and incident response.
• Contribute to observability stack and post-incident reviews.
