Job summary

Ambipar Response is seeking Senior Environmental Technologists to support field reclamation and remediation projects across multiple Western Canada locations. You will work under the Project Manager to execute scopes, conduct site assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance while leading field teams.

Ideal candidates hold an environmental degree or diploma, with 2–5 years of field experience, and possess knowledge of water regulations, wetlands, and upstream oil and gas requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation or similar discipline.
• 2-5 years' relevant field experience.
• Knowledge of the Water Act and wetland classification is an asset.
• Understanding of upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in AB & BC.
• Experience with reclamation and remediation on private and public lands.
• Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills.
• Valid driver's license; access to 4x4 vehicle with a Class 5 license.
• AIA and/or SIA membership preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Execute scopes of work and cost estimates under supervision of the Project Manager.
• Ensure project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.
• Supervise reclamation and remediation projects of varying scope.
• Assist with Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments.
• Complete site assessments and groundwater monitoring.
• Coordinate and supervise tree planting and ground disturbance compliance.
• Ensure safety regulations and SOPs are followed and updated.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Ambipar Response is currently seeking Senior Environmental Technologists based out of Calgary, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Grand Prairie and/or Fort Saint John.

WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF:

• Execute scopes of work and cost estimates under the supervision of the Project Manager
• Ensure project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner
• Supervise small and large-scale reclamation and remediation projects
• Assist with execution of Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments
• Complete detailed site assessments and groundwater monitoring
• Coordinate and supervise tree planting
• Manage and meet all client and regulatory ground disturbance requirements
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, directives and SOP's
• Implement internal and client safety programs
• Remain current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, provide updated information as it becomes available to staff

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation or similar discipline
• Professional designation or articling to obtain is considered an asset
• 2-5 years' relevant field experience
• Knowledge of the water act and experience with wetland classification is an asset
• Understanding of the upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in AB & BC
• Experience with reclamation and remediation on private and public lands
• Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills
• Good physical health with willingness to travel and work in the field for extended periods
• Valid driver's license
• AIA and or SIA Member (preferred but not necessary).
• Must have access to 4X4 vehicle with a valid class 5 license
