Job summary

Varsity Tutors is expanding its Live Learning Platform for online psychology tutoring. Tutors set schedules, earn competitive rates, and work from home, delivering personalized instruction to students nationwide.

As a psychology tutor, you will apply deep subject mastery to real-world problems, adapt teaching methods to individual learners, and leverage the AI Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions. Payments are issued promptly for tutoring sessions.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of research methods, biological bases of behavior, sensation and perception, learning theories, memory and cognition, developmental psychology, personality theories, abnormal psychology, social psychology, and therapeutic approaches.
• Ability to explain neurotransmitter functions, conditioning principles, cognitive biases, and the DSM framework for AP Psychology or college-level prep.
• Skilled at breaking down psychology concepts and guiding students through problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Strong communication and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different student needs and learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online psychology tutoring sessions.
• Tailor instruction to individual learning styles and needs.
• Help students prepare for AP Psychology or college exams.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions and manage scheduling; communicate with students.
